and Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), included 44

NVFS
Launches Arlington Head Start Child Development Center
Classes
began on June 23rd at the new Arlington Head Start Child Development
Center, operated by NVFS. The center will serve 204 children,
ages 3-5, in newly renovated classrooms at the center located
at 1801 George Mason Drive in Arlington. The new center responds
directly to the needs of parents in the community with longer
hours, and full-year classes operating out of a single, newly-renovated
facility. NVFS looks forward to building a lasting and successful
program in Arlington that will serve to enrich the entire community
as hundreds of children are helped each year during their crucial
developmental phase.

21st Annual Fannie Mae Foundation Help the Homeless Walkathon
For many years, NVFS has been a beneficiary of Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Walkathon. Each year, we join tens of thousands of our neighbors in this walk to raise awareness and funds to end homelessness.
Adults and youth can participate in the 21st Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon and/or in the mini-walks held throughout the area. The 5K Walkathon will take place on Saturday, November 22 on the National Mall. Mini-walks will take place all over Northern Virginia in September and October.
We are looking for walkers for both the Walkathon and mini-walks as well as donors to sponsor youth walkers. Any school, faith-based, or community organization can participate in the mini-walks. Please contact Jennifer Rose, NVFS Community Engagement Specialist at 703-219-2174 if you would like to support NVFS in this event.
