Vehicles for Change

NVFS’ Vehicles for Change and Repair Assistance Programs ended 6/30/2024.

NVFS’ Vehicles for Change and the Repair Assistance programs provided qualifying, low-income families with reliable transportation so that they may readily access more job and school opportunities. NVFS has distributed more than 1,200 vehicles since 2004. After careful consideration and due to changes in the pre-owned car marketplace, NVFS will no longer administer the Vehicles for Change Program in Northern Virginia. However, the regional Vehicles for Change program, based in Maryland, is still available.

We are proud to have helped families acquire the financial and personal independence that comes from owning a vehicle, such as getting to work and performing daily functions like getting children to daycare, school, and medical appointments. We are grateful for the support of a community that recognized the vital importance of transportation to families’ lives. Thank you.
