Volunteering
NVFS offers a variety of ways to engage your employees, including:
Hands-on volunteer opportunities (due to COVID-19, options are limited)
Volunteer offerings range from one-time team-building activities to ongoing engagement opportunities.
At NVFS, you have the opportunity to:
- Volunteer at NVFS program sites. Visit this page to learn more about ongoing opportunities.
- Participate in NVFS’ Annual Drives or host your own donation drive on the agency’s behalf.
- Host a volunteer activity at your office. Companies can conduct peer-to-peer fundraisers on NVFS’ behalf using our OneCause account. This is a simple way to design a page that is personalized to your company and allows you to fundraise around company celebrations, milestones, etc. All contributions can be made directly through the OneCause site.
- Join a committee. NVFS engages volunteers to support our Road to Independence Gala and CARE Awards events. Committee volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of two hours per month for a year. These opportunities are ideal for mid-to-senior level employees.
Example:
PNC
Grow Up Great initiative
PNC has partnered with NVFS as part of the Grow Up Great Initiative with a goal of providing 100 volunteer hours. PNC volunteers provided fun student experiences by donating Valentine’s Day goodie bags and facilitating a virtual African safari. They also refreshed the playground at an Early Head Start centers and participated in the NVFS Back2School Drive.
