NVFS receives MDRT Grant to Fund Dental Care

The Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT) Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to help subsidize the charges that NVFS clients incur for regular dental procedures. The NVFS oral health program has worked with many local dentists to provide routine cleanings, extractions, and fillings to our clients who can not afford regular care and do not have dental insurance.

“We are grateful to the MDRT for acknowledging that oral health is one of the most frequently overlooked areas of care for families struggling to lift themselves out of poverty. When oral health problems are allowed to linger, or go undetected, they can quickly become incapacitating and lead to much more serious health and dietary deficiencies,” said Paul Hedg-Peth, Health Access Program Manager for NVFS.

The Oral Health Programs at NVFS make up a part of our Health Access initiative, which gives clients throughout our region access to comprehensive and holistic health care which includes free or reduced-cost medical, dental, medication and mental health services.
