(Oakton, Va., October 15, 2013) The Greater Prince William Community will have a special opportunity to support SERVE’s Food Distribution Center when country radio station 98.7 WMZQ will host a Stuff a Truck canned food drive at the Manassas Mall, Wednesday, Oct. 23., from 12-7 p.m. WMZQ’s Michael J will be broadcasting from the event from 3-7 p.m., that afternoon.
Donors are encouraged to bring non-perishable items that will help feed the 800 families who turn to SERVE for support every month. Canned vegetables, canned fish, dry beans, cereal, pasta and tomato/pasta sauce are especially needed. In FY13, SERVE recorded more than 1.5 million pounds of donations at its Food Distribution Center.
The drive will be held in the JC Penney court, which is anchored by JC Penney and Wal-Mart. In addition, drivers can drop their donations off at the NVFS Truck located at Entrance 4 of the mall, 8300 Sudley Road, Manassas. After turning into the mall from Sudley Road, drivers should go around Sears; Entrance 4 is located between the food court at Entrance 3 and Wal-Mart.
