Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) will hold the 2011 Road to Independence Gala on Friday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. This year’s event is especially supported by our lead sponsors, BB&T, Capital One, Clark Construction, and John & Nina Toups as well as our many other sponsors and valuable in-kind contributions from many corporate partners. The event features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, dinner and a short program.
The agency is proud to honor Dr. Alan & Mrs. Sally Merten as Community Champions, and John T. “Til” Hazel, Jr. with the Legends of Northern Virginia award.
This year NVFS assisted nearly 33,000 people in need and on their road to independence through our five mission initiatives: Children & Youth Development, Safe & Stable Housing, Workforce Development, Health Access, and Emergency Assistance. Our long record of success is due to our talented and devoted staff, volunteers, corporate and civic partners, and our donors and sponsors.
As NVFS moves forward, it is important to recognize its roots as an organization staffed by people who are committed to community service. This event celebrates and honors each individual who contributes to our success. Media passes to the event are available. Event proceeds will benefit the vital community programs offered by NVFS.
