2022 GALA Sponsor Spotlight
Thank you to all our 2022 Road to Independence Gala sponsors! We are privileged that some have chosen to share why they’ve chosen to support NVFS and the impact they have achieved through this partnership.
Through both dollar and deed, Clark Construction is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. For over 16 years, Clark has proudly partnered with Northern Virginia Family Service through the Road to Independence Gala to help families and individuals thrive in the northern Virginia area.
From making no sew blankets for the Head Start centers to sorting donations at the Thrift Shops, our teams volunteer with NVFS during our annual Week of Service and beyond. “The passion, expertise and shared sense of purpose demonstrated by NVFS’ leadership, staff and my fellow board members is inspiring,” said Kris Manning, senior vice president at Clark Construction and NVFS board member. “Thanks to the generous support of the community, we are able to assist our neighbors in need at every stage of their lives.”
The impact that NVFS makes on the northern Virginia area is immeasurable. We are proud to support such a dynamic and vital organization in its continued efforts to empower more than 30,000 northern Virginians to achieve self-sufficiency.
Northern Virginia Family Service is one of the leading organizations we support. We choose NVFS because their scale and operational excellence enable them to help the most people in our community in the most efficient and effective way.
In our business, we make significant investments in communities from Maryland to Florida. As a company, our goal is to also help those most in need in each area where we do business. We do not have the expertise to do this across the large number of counties and states that we do business in, so we choose to pick the highest performing service organizations in each region. In Northern Virginia, that is Northern Virginia Family Service.
We support NVFS in three primary ways. The most visible is that Stanley Martin has been active in renovating affordable housing units owned by NVFS, typically on a pro bono basis. We also support NVFS through volunteer activities, as well as through financial support.
The home renovations that we did for NVFS had two powerful impacts. One was that the families that lived in those units could experience a more dignified and family-friendly environment. The second is that our contribution of construction improvements enabled NVFS to repurpose their capital funds to assist ever more people.
