Every fall, our community comes together to stock the shelves of our Hunger Resource Center for the busy holiday season, so families can access fresh produce, pantry staples, proteins, and gift cards.

1. Drop off food
Most needed items include:
-
- Canned fruit (in natural juices, not syrup)
- Canned soup (low sodium; vegetable soups and soups/stews with meat)
- Canned tuna
- Canned chicken
- Dried beans (black, pinto, kidney, garbanzo)
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce (low/no sugar added)
- Peanut butter (low/no sugar)
- Low sugar cereals and oatmeal (examples: Kix, Cheerios
- Cooking oil
Gluten-free, low-sodium, and low-sugar items are always welcome.
We also accept perishables* like:
- Fresh produce
- Dairy
- Packaged meat, poultry & eggs
- Commercial bread & baked goods
*Must be sealed, labeled, within expiry date, and delivered cold or frozen.

Heads up: GPS may route you to a closed section of Dean Drive due to construction. Use the turnoff from Nokesville Road/Rt. 28 for reliable access.

We'll share the Food Drive Toolkit here soon to get started. It will have resources, templates, and tips to help you launch your food drive.

Looking for a way to donate food online?
Looking for a way to donate food online? Give virtually through GiveHealthy.com to donate the food items most needed by our community. It’s a simple way to help provide nourishing groceries to HRC clients, even from afar.
Can't make it happen in person?
Can't make it in person? A financial gift lets us purchase exactly what's most needed — including grocery store gift cards provided to HRC clients before the holidays.
