(Oakton, Va., October 7, 2014) NVFS’ Hispanic Committee programs have joined the NVFS Multicultural Human Services office in Falls Church, Va. With expanded capacity for case management and the ability to provide numerous wraparound services from one location, the new office will be known as the Multicultural Center.
Both sets of programs have expertise in assisting immigrant and refugee communities succeed in the United States.
By joining the programs, NVFS is able to offer clients wraparound services encompassing mental health and psychiatry, case management, legal assistance, workforce development and entrepreneurship – all under one roof and in many languages.
Thanks to a diverse staff and volunteer corps, the Multicultural Center can assist clients who speak languages including Amharic, Arabic, Farsi, French and Spanish.
Linguistic and cultural differences are often the biggest roadblocks for newcomers. NVFS’ culturally diverse, highly trained and dedicated mental health professionals are uniquely qualified to work with immigrants and refugees from all over the world. Many NVFS staff are themselves immigrants, refugees and/or members of cultural minorities.
The Multicultural Center has a satellite office in Arlington with case management, employment services and financial literacy programs. This office is co-located with NVFS’ Head Start center at 1801 N. George Mason Drive.
