NVFS Family Shelter

A safe place to land, with support to build a path forward — for individuals and families in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park.

Accessing shelter and homeless prevention services.

Individuals and families seeking emergency shelter and prevention services are assessed through Prince William County's Coordinated Entry System (CES).

To get started, potential clients or case managers must call the CES hotline:

703.792.3366 (TTY: 711)

All intake is handled through the CES — walk-ins and direct requests cannot be accommodated.

When a family has nowhere to turn, we’re here.

We provide emergency family shelter alongside case management, housing services, and ongoing support so families can move from crisis to lasting stability.

Every family that comes through our shelter is paired with a dedicated case manager and connected to a full continuum of support with the goal of transitioning to safe, permanent housing.

We serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park.

Homeless Services

Our shelter is a gateway, not a destination

The NVFS Family Shelter is the anchor of a broader continuum of Homeless Services. Every program is built around one goal: helping families move from crisis to lasting stability.

Homeless Services are only available to current guests at the shelter.

Emergency Shelter (NVFS Family Shelter)

The NVFS Family Shelter in Manassas provides safe emergency shelter for individuals and families in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park. Every guest works with a case manager to develop a long-term housing stability plan and is connected to wraparound support including employment readiness, financial literacy, and early childhood education.

Rent & Utility Assistance

For families in the Prince William area who are at risk of eviction or utility disconnection, our prevention services provide emergency rental and utility assistance, helping stabilize housing before a crisis deepens.

Rapid Re-Housing (RRH)

Short-term rental assistance paired with intensive case management to help individuals and families exit homelessness and return to stable housing as quickly as possible. Every RRH participant works closely with a case manager toward self-sufficiency and long-term housing stability.

Housing Location

Dedicated support for finding and securing permanent housing including landlord outreach, application assistance, and housing navigation. Housing Location staff work alongside families to identify suitable, affordable options and make a successful transition.
