Pathways to permanent homes
Housing instability looks different for every family. Some need emergency help with rent or utilities to avoid eviction. Others are transitioning out of homelessness and need longer-term support to stay housed.
Our Community Housing programs meet families at every stage with a range of solutions for Fairfax County residents. The case management team connects clients to resources based on their household's specific needs.
Our Programs
Rental Subsidy & Services Program (RSSP)
(Fairfax County)
A short- to medium-term rental subsidy program for Fairfax County households transitioning out of homelessness.
RSSP provides rental subsidies alongside comprehensive case management and supportive services — including housing location, benefits counseling, employment support, and mental health services — to help households achieve lasting self-sufficiency.
This program is NOT open for direct applications. Participants are referred through Fairfax County community partners based on prioritization of need.

Short-Term Rental Assistance
(Fairfax County)
Emergency rental and security deposit assistance for Fairfax County residents facing eviction or unable to cover a security deposit due to an unexpected hardship.
This program is not open for direct applications. Participants are referred through Fairfax County based on prioritization of need.

Utility Assistance Program
(Fairfax County)
Emergency utility assistance for Fairfax County residents who have received a utility disconnect notice.

Regional Housing Assistance Program (RHAP)
Northern Virginia-wide
Housing case management and emergency financial assistance for individuals with a qualifying health condition across Northern Virginia. Serving Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
Affordable Rental Units
Prince William County
Income-based, single-family apartments for low-income families in Prince William County, primarily in the Woodbridge area. Rent is income-based. Applications are accepted based on unit availability.
