“Bring Food to Get Food” for SERVE at Prince William County Fair
Manassas, VA – Friday, August 6, 2010 – The Prince William County Fair announces its first “Bring Food to Get Food” community food drive to benefit SERVE, a program of NVFS.
Bring a non-perishable item to the PWC Fair on Sunday, August 15th and get a coupon for a free hot dog. This is a great opportunity to “celebrate bounty in our county” while having fun and supporting an important cause.
SERVE, a program of Northern Virginia Family Service, a private nonprofit established in 1924, is dedicated to helping individuals and families find new paths to self-reliance and brighter futures. SERVE distributes $2 million worth of food annually to an average of 900 families each month, as well as providing shelter for homeless families, and emergency assistance to prevent families from becoming homeless.
