Building a Stronger Resume and Community Through Volunteering
Administrative Skills
Rani was searching for volunteer opportunities in Northern Virginia to give back to her community, as well as gain valuable and professional experience to assist her in the job hunt down the line.
When Rani discovered opportunities for volunteering with NVFS, she couldn’t say no.
“Volunteering with NVFS made me look at things in a new perspective,” shared Rani. “It gave me an opportunity to understand how I can help the community and be involved in various activities.”
Rani spends her time at NVFS volunteering in multiple capacities, from picking up coats for the SERVE Campus’ Coat Closet to participating at outreach events and even assisting with data entry at the administrative offices, where she learns about various online programs and administrative practices within the non-profit world.
“NVFS is a very friendly place to work and everyone at NVFS is down-to-earth and helpful,” Rani added.
Rani has been an asset to the team at NVFS, particularly at the SERVE Campus where she spends the majority of her volunteer hours.
“Rani is an enthusiastic volunteer and is currently completing trainings in our data entry program so that she can do even more,” shared Community & Volunteer Engagement Specialist Navara Cannon. “We are so grateful for her and her hard work.”
Thank you, Rani, for choosing NVFS as your home for volunteering. We appreciate all that you do!
