Discovering a Purpose With Training Futures
Career Development
Richard Moya was unemployed and studying part time at Northern Virginia Community College before he found NVFS’ Training Futures. Like most trainees, Richard lacked experience in office environments, customer service and belief in himself to overcome adversity.
Richard learned about Training Futures from a friend of his, and he decided to apply due to his sparse resume. Training Futures not only provided Richard with workforce training, but also an internship which helped his resume and landed him a job.
After working in the private sector and gaining office experience, Richard accepted a position at the U.S. State Department in the Human Resources Bureau. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from the University of Virginia.
“Success, to me, means self-satisfaction to be at the job I have forever desired,” says Richard. Thanks to Training Futures, he has that job today.
